Shauna Newell: Sex Slaves in the Suburbs

Shauna Newell, 18, of Florida, was kidnapped, drugged, beaten and gang raped. TODAY’s Natalie Morales has a special episode named “Sex Slaves in the Suburbs.” It told Shauna Newell’s story. A girl from high school, an accomplice of a sex predator, invited the unsuspecting Shauna Newell to her home for a sleepover. Shauna Newell was given water to drink and she was drugged. A series of gang rapes followed. Newell’s kidnapper told her she was sold to a Texan male for $300,000. Newell was rescued before the delivery.
“Sex Slaves in the Suburbs” will be shown at 10 p.m. ET Sunday, Oct. 12 on MSNBC. The source has the photos of Shauna Newell.

I think it’s remarkably aw inspiring that she would have the courage to come forward with the horrific events that happened to her. I’m sure reliving those memories is hard for her. What angers me is that on one website people (mostly men) are saying that she’s making the whole thing up. Jerks! Shame on them!

this IS a total hoax! somebody would pay 300k for a diseased, drugged up, badly used up/no traction, nearly dead teenager who may die any moment… and then you have a 300k corpse. gimme a break. also i have read differing versions of her ‘rescue’. and finally, how offensively coinfusing is the fact that she keeps seeing her rapists in public, and yet no arrests are made, no questioning and no seeming investigation has occurred. shaaady
