Updated August 8 2009 – Derek Hough twittered that he broke up with Shannon Elizabeth. The former couple made it a matching twitter post with Hough starting the message and Elizabeth finishing off the announcement about their split.

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars contestants Shannon Elizabeth & Derek Hough were marketed in promotions. It looks to be a fake romance. Shannon Elizabeth was asked about her romantic video with Derek Hough and she said that they were getting into the act because of the requirements.

When other dancers in Dancing with the Stars were asked about the supposed romance between Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth, they did not comment directly about it. Many said that it would be good for them. The contestants slyly avoided confirming that there was a romance between Shannon and Derek. They did not admit or deny anything.

The gossip about Derek Hough said he gay. There was nothing between Derek and Shannon.

Too bad.
