Shane McConkey, a mountain skier and BASE jumper, died in an accident. McConkey, of Squaw Valley, was killed on March 26’s accident. McConkey was at a ski-BASE in the Italian Dolomites where he died.

McConkey,39, had launched off a cliff but faced problems in the air. McConkey could not use his parachute canopy. McConkey crashed to the ground and died.

McConkey, of Olympic Valley, California, left behind his wife, Sherry McConkey, and daughter Ayla McConkey, 3 and half years old.
