Shamal Thompson, 22, was arrested for the murder of Eugenia Calle. Calle is a famous cancer researcher. Thompson assaulted Calle and beat her to her death in her Midtown condominium last week.

Calle had admitted Thompson into her apartment as he had expressed an interest in buying the unit. Calle had been trying to sell her condo. Last Tuesday, Feb 11, Tompson entered Calle’s apartment and that was when Calle died.
