Sergio Garcia’s former girlfriend, Morgan-Leigh Norman, broke up with him around March 2009. Morgan-Leigh Norman is the daughter of Greg Norman, an Australian celebrity golfer. Garcia, a Spaniard, took the split badly. Garcia’s playing form declined. Garcia explained Ms Norman was his first real love and he took some time to recuperate over his lost love.

Garcia said he has not spoken to or seen Ms Norman since she broke the news that she wanted to split with him. Garcia stressed they parted friends but he didn’t communicate with Norman as he was trying to get over the broken relationship.

Garcia said he wasn’t affected by a public relationship. Garcia didn’t think being in the limelight made it difficult to deal with his past romance. Garcia tried to assure the interviewer he was happier than before. He would keep his feet firmly rooted and remain a practical man to tackle his golf game.
