August 18 – Robin Wright Penn has filed for divorce from her husband, Sean Penn. Robin Wright Penn filed her papers on August 12, 2009. It remains to be seen if this is for real.

Updated April 29 – Sean Penn has filed for legal separation from his estranged wife, Robin Wright Penn. Penn filed his court papers on Friday, April 24, 2009.

This news is official as Sean Penn has released a press statement to announce his separation from Robin Wright.

Sean Penn and Robin Wright were married on April 27, 1996. The Penn couple have 2 children, Dylan Penn and Hopper Jack Penn. The couple filed for separation in December 2007 but reconciled in April 2008.

Sean Penn & Robin Wright have initiated divorce proceedings in the reverse order. They are taking back their divorce lawsuits. There was no information on why they did this about turn.
