Sarah Palin under investigation

By Clarencia Cynrae on August 15th, 2008

Sarah Palin, 44, Governor of Alaska, has some controversies attached. There is a controversy over her ex brother-in-law, Mike Wooten. Mike Wooten and Sarah Palin’s sister divorced. Mike Wooten worked as a state trooper.

Palin’s full name is Sarah Louise Heath Palin. She was born on February 11, 1964.

The legislative panel has a $100,000 budget to investigate if Sarah Palin fired Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner

because he refused to fire Mike Wooten. Sarah Palin has denied her involvement. Palin denied having her hand in her husband, Todd Palin, dialing Wooten’s bosses. Palin’s administrative staff also made many calls to Wooten’s superiors.

When questioned, the Palins alleged that Mike Wooton drank beer in his patrol car, and fired a Taser at his step son, age 11. Mike Wooton was accused of threatening the safety of the Sarah Palin’s father.

This article is impartial. Everything is alleged on both sides.

  1. Sharon Wall Says:

How dare her want to get rid of this cop who tasered her 11 year old nephew and threatened to kill her father. Who the hell does she think she is?
This is a disgrace and she should be impeached. The democrats are right on this one. And I’m sure that 11 year old boy had it coming. And I’m sure the officer had good cause to say he was going to put a bullet in Mr. Palin’s head. And as far as drinking on duty in his squad car, …well so what. What could possibly go wrong with a drunk cop driving around confronting criminals and traffic offenders?
With Governor’s like this running around trying to keep cops like this off our streets and highways, what’s next? Firing good teachers who are child molesters?

  2. Josh Blanston Says:

Uhh While that cop might need to have been fired or possibly JAILED, it is not the GOVERNOR who makes that decision. Firing the Public safety chief because he wouldn’t fire this officer is just plain wrong and an abuse of power.

What if Gov Palin came into YOUR place of work and demanded YOUR termination?

  3. jake Says:

she fired the comissioner, not the cop.

  4. Anonymous Says:

You automatically believe those things and dismiss the fact there could be something bad here. The problem is you automatically make up your mind based on pre concieved ideas. That’s how republicans think. The truth will come out. Get the facts and then make up your mind. You guys gotta stop being so retarded all the time.

  5. Stephen Says:

I don’t blame Gov. Palin for wanting to protect her father or nephew or not wanting inebriated cops on the street. But, I do blame her for taking action against a former member of her family when, in fact, that man has not been convicted of any offense. There is no place in our justice system for vengence. There is no place in our justice system for persons with a personal interest in a case to be involved in a prosecution. There is no place in our justice system for Gov. Palin to use the power of her office to put her fingers on the scales of justice. Shame on her. Let the Alaska justice system do its job.

  6. Jill Says:

Wow, Sharon, Those are allegations! Let the truth come forth. We don’t know what happened yet. What happened to innocent until proven guilty.
all the political fingerpointing is premature, if necessary at all. Let’s see what the facts are before jumping to conclusions.

  7. Mark Stone Says:

If what the Palins allege is supported by fact Wooten should be prosecuted for endangering a minor. A criminal complaint should be filed against him, he should be arrested, brought up on charges and prosecuted in a court of law. That’s the way the rule of law works in a civilized community. Why is this process alien to Gov. Palin? Is the firing of another official the type of convoluted circumvention of the law the way she deals with all her problems? Palin had a better course to pursue but a political purge was more expedient.

  8. John Sargent Says:

This Sharon Wall’s reply is of course a joke.
No reasonable person believes such a thing. We have excellent people in law enforcement, with a couple bad apples that need to be fired and prosecuted for illegal behavior. And of course, good teachers who molest children need to be executed.

  9. Joel Says:

Wow, Sharon seems to have ‘inside’ information on the case. Otherwise she would know as an individual not blinded by party what the word ‘alleged’ means. That includes both Gov. Palin and her former brother-in-law. Ah, divided we fail to seek the truth and become party drones.

  10. Joe Momma Says:

Right… I guess you just wanted to leave out the word ‘alleged’ in all of these accusations against the State Trooper?

How dare we wait for facts before deciding who was right or wrong in this case! How dare we investigate something that obviously needs attention! How dare we even consider looking into BOTH sides of the story.

Why is it that Republicans are so afraid of an investigation? Is the light of day really that frightening for those who supposedly have truth on their side? You shouldn’t be so afraid of finding answers if you know you’re in the right.

  11. JJJerry Says:

They have a lot of sex, those Palins. Also, I think there are full retards in the family. So it’s not surprising one of them would marry a state trooper. Sexual deviants love state troopers. I think everyone should support our state troopers and not a bunch of Alaskan sexual deviants.

  12. MIchael Souza Says:

MY MY, Aren’t we a sarcastic, little person! So do tell us, just how long have you lived with the Wooten family that you are privy to ALL the details? It must be great to be so omnipotent!

  13. jennifer Says:

Good. Now take that ironic credulity to a white house scenario. If the accusations being leveled at Palin are true then it can also hold true that she will take those corrution tactics and qualities to the White House. Had no idea there were so many rogue/rove conservatives.

  14. TODD Says:

If what the governor says is true, where is the police report of these incidences alleged to be committed by P.O. Wooton? Surely, if the allegations were true, Wooton would have more trouble with the law than keeping his job. And surely, the governor wouldn’t have to lobby for his firing. Sharon, stop drinking the kool aid. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

  15. Cherie Bane Says:

No it’s totally legitimate to fire someone on hearsay and speculation. Last I heard you threatened me, so I’m calling your boss, to have you fired.

  16. Joe Says:

Bingo! Who would have a problem with a governor wanting to get rid of a drunken child abuser who threatened to kill her father?

  17. Peter iNova Says:

Fired a taser at his step son. …had it coming, etc. –The real story. Not the jumped conclusions.

    From the investigation:

One day — maybe a year or two before the investigation — Wooten showed his stepson his Taser. He had just been to Taser instructor school. Wooten told Sgt. Wall that the boy was fascinated and pleaded to be tased.

“So we went in our living room and I had him get down on his knees so he wouldn’t fall. And I taped the probes to him and turned the Taser on for like a second, turned it off. He thought that was the greatest thing in the world, wanted to do it again,” Wooten told the investigator. The boy flinched but nothing more, he said. The boy was about 11 at the time.

In his interview with troopers, the stepson said it hurt for about a second, according to Wall’s report. The boy said he wanted to be tased to show his cousin, Palin’s daughter Bristol, that he wasn’t a mama’s boy. The probe left a welt on his arm, he said. His mother was upstairs yelling at them not to do it, the boy said.

  18. John Says:

Oh Sharon, don’t be so gullible. That’s just what they say. He got fired via the governor because he divorced her sister.

    A family with MANY problems…

  19. Leigh Says:

This woman, Palin, is a fraud. She is a Governor.
She’s NOT a mother of 5, she’s a self-severing woman, who has a mentally challenged son and an infant, who she has no time for. How can she possibly have time for the VP’s hat, or worse yet? If JSMcCain kicks the bucket, how in this world can she possibly have time to be be president of these precious United States? She’s an empty skirt on a self-serving mission. And frankly, what she does in your state are her investigations to worry about. I’m worried about our Nation. If JS McCain, has given up hope for the Presidency, this was a very wise choice of running mate!

  20. tim clement Says:

unless they can prove he did it and it’s not just allegations then she was out of line….i’m sure they did an investigation and found the charges to be insufficient

  21. Martha Lane Says:

I assume,Sharon Wall, the writer of the Aug 15, 2008, comment was witness to all of the alleged claims against Sarah Palins ex-brother-in-law. It would be sheer stupidity for the cop with ties to political “royalty” to commit such irresponsible acts. It is possible but I wouldn’t dare to presume all of the complaints are true because I wasn’t there. From what I understand the investigation should be completed by November.
For the records, it sounds like Sharon has an intense dislike for democrats. I don’t hate all republicans because of one reckless president.

  22. Pete Says:

    Haha Sharon I love it!

    And I totally agree!

  23. Dennis Says:

You just missed one little point…The Palins (alleged)…until you have all the facts I would not be so quick to blow my horn so loud….If they allocated over a $100,000 from the state buget to investigate this..it says to me it’s a little more then a he said she said…but then again I’ll wait for all the facts.

  24. Chelsea Says:

    Hey Leigh,

Using your logic, Biden is a self-serving man running off to the Senate right after his wife was killed and his sons were critically injured in a car wreck.

Palin is an excellent choice for VP, she actually brings experience in government as an Executive, unlike half-term senator who from Illinois.

  25. Alnico Says:

Just another case of hell having no fury like a woman (and her family) scorned.

A momentary taze in the right area to demonstrate the effect of the Tazer is not harmful. I was not much older when I asked a friend to taze me.

The real investigation need to be in to:

    1) the wrongful termination of a state employee
    2) the conspiracy to harrass a police officer

If the later is found true, restraining orders should be issues to prevent further harassment and additional, compensatory custody time given to the officer. Obviously, despite his taking of a moose without a permit which is frequently done when one family member has a permit and another does not, these issues do not impact his ability to be a parent. This is just a family trying to harrass the EX in to a bad financial position to make having a good place to keep his own kids more difficult. Yes. There are people who are so vindictive that they would deprive thier own children of time and financial resources when tendered through the object of thier hatred, in this case the father. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned. This type if event will continue to happen as long as men are treated as 2nd class parents by the courts.

  26. RL Gumm Says:

That’s all we need….another crooked Republican Vice President. McCain / Palin is going to be just another Bush / Cheney.

  27. Mike Says:

Chelsea’s assertion about Biden leaving his sons and running off to the Senate after his wife and child were killed in an accident is the dumbest thing I have read. Biden was and is a dedicated father.
I would hope that most of us men would be as self-serving man as Joe Biden……
As a self-serving man I will hold my opinion about Palin until more information is out.

  28. Anne Says:

I do think that McCain should probably have waited.
It makes me wonder if she was fully vetted.

  29. Robert Michela Says:

A good question might be if these problems with the father existed DURING the marriage why did they wait to report/complain about them until AFTER the marriage ended? Having gone through a nasty divorce to a woman whose family held me on their shoulders as a hero who adopted and raised her four-year-old and fought the HMO’s tooth-and-nail to have her brain tumer removed rather than the cheaper “Chemo-and-keep-it” strategy of the HMO I was amazed to see all of these same people accuse me of child/spousal abuse, frequenting prostitutes, drug and alcohol abuse, etc. The charges: Thrown out. Oh and the four-year-old I adopted…now seventeen and living with me full time. We shot each other with “Air-soft pistols” the other day and if we had a taser who knows what would happen??? That’s what guys do!

  30. John Stuart Says:

I thought the “Palin scandel” was the fact the new baby was Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter’s and not hers??!!? I don’t undertand why that isn’t the headline news?! THAT shows she had no time for her children, not this! She then spent the time she should have been spending with her daughter lead up to this political hot potat orchistrating this half-assed pregnancy switch-a-roo cover up (Palin did not show ANY signs of being pregnent..EVER..during her supposed pregnancy meanwhile her daughter was in numerous state pictures looking pregnant as hell before she VANISHED FROM SIGHT for 6 months prior to the appearence of the child…I mean please….do they actually think we’re all as gullible as GWB?!?!) THIS is gonna kill the McCain Campaign when it hits the mainstream as…well…if she’ll lie about something this big and falsify the documentation to back it up…what won’t she lie about?!?!?!

  31. sandy Says:

    Robert Michela Says:
if these problems with the father existed DURING the marriage why did they wait to report/complain about them until AFTER the marriage ended?
    ————–
I agree. If child abuse occurred, this Palin and her sister were condoning it and keeping a CRIME secret till after the divorce, which makes the pair of them morally if not legally responsible for child endangerment. The charges apparently weren’t made until AFTER corrupt Sara was caught inappropriately abusing her power and interfering w/ a governmental agency. Sounds like McCain has found a true soul-mate in corruption. Old McCain famously wrote TWO bills as a valentine for his special lady friend, lobbyist Vicki Iseman. Furthermore, inappropriately interfering with a governmental agency for one of Ms Iseman’s clients got McSleaze a rebuke from a Repug FCC who denounced his actions. (I guess when you’re as homely as McCain you have to pay off REALLY big to get action on the side.) The problem is when Repugs give gifts to girlfriends or corporations, the American taxpayers always pick up the bills.

  32. Marley Johnson Says:

Regardless of the situation with Sarah, It’s a disgrace that McCain would choose a running mate wihtout knowing much about her, and just meeting her once. I don’t think that he knew that this woman has such a young baby with down syndrome. And I don’t think that he knew that this woman is under investigation. Regardless how small these issues may seem to some of us, we are too close to the election to be focusing on gossip involving this woman. I think that this man made a bad choice. Just think of all the better choices he could have made. It absolutely makes no sense to me. I seriously think that this man is unstable and unable to make good choices much less to run the United States. THIS IS ALL A BIG JOKE AND I’M DISSAPOINTED IN JOHN MCCAIN. And this man claims that he is the more experienced candidate. An experienced candidate would not have made such a fool out of himself and so willing to put this country in jeapordy. If something were to happen to him, and this woman had to take over as President, who would come first, her children or the country. Maybe alzheimer is setting in, just a thought.

I think any man who tazers his 11 year old step son needs fired and if his supervisor refuses to fire him, he also should be fired.Any full grown man that tazers an 11 year old child is not fit to be a policeman … ..
As for Sarah Palin.. this is like comparing Jesus to satan when you try to make her look as bad as Barack ..Barack couold never pass a national security clearance let alone be president.. The morons in this country will see and soon ..too late then..
