Sarah Covington Crews, 33, of North Seacrest Blvd, was murdered on Saturday afternoon, May 9. Crews had called police earlier to ask for protection while she went inside the home of Russell Antonio Dillard. Crews went to retrieve her personal belongings from Dillard’s home. Crews left safely and the deputies left.

About 3 hours later, police were informed that Crews was dead at her friend’s home, about 2 doors away from Dillard’s home. Police went to Dillard’s home but failed to receive a response from him. After 3 hours, officers entered Dillard’s home and found him dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
