Sahar Daftary, 23, committed suicide by jumping down from her boyfriend’s apartment. Daftary had discovered he was married. Daftary suffered mortal injuries after leaping from the 12th floor after breaking up with her married lover. He is a property developer. He had dialed emergency to ask for help. Police responded and arrived but Daftary had already fallen down 150 feet to her death.

Daftary’s boyfriend is only identified as Rashid Jamil. Police arrested Rashid Jamil, 33, and later released him on bail. Daftary was crowned 2007 Miss Face of Asia. Daftary won this big modeling contest in 2007. Around June 2008, Daftary discovered Rashid Jamil was married and had a child. Daftary broke up with Rashid Jamil.

Sahar Daftary’s pornographic tape with an unidentified man was posted on a website with public access. Daftary had feared that the porn video, or sex tape, would damage her career. Police suspect the porn tape may have been posted online out of spite. One suspect would be the ex boyfriend. Daftary’s friends believed the porn video was related to her split with Rashid Jamil. Daftary traveled from her London home to Manchester to participate in a fashion show in an Indian restaurant. Daftary went to get her belongings from her ex boyfriend’s apartment in Manchester.

Mr. Rashid Jamil called police from his marital home in Salford, while Daftary was in the Manchester apartment. When police reached the 17-story NV Buildings in Salford Quays, close to Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground, Daftary had already fallen to the ground. Circumstances were not clear about the locations of Rashid Jamil and Daftary at that point of time.

Witnesses said they heard a single scream. Police suspect a suicide or an accidental fall. Daftary’s family lives in Brentford, West London. Her family did not understand what caused the events that led to Daftary’s death. Police are investigating.
