Saad Bedrie Hussein, an Ethiopian immigrant, allegedly mailed a letter with his HIV tainted blood to Barack Obama. Hussein had a history of mental health problems. Hussein is now detained in the custody of law enforcement agencies.

Hussein said he mailed his letter,postmarked on Dec 27, to get help and tickets to Obama’s inauguration in Jan 2009. Hussein’s letter also contained an orange colored powder. Hussein could not remember what the orange powder was. Tests discovered the powder was a drink mixture.

Saad Bedrie Hussein was also suspected of mailing a similar letter containing his HIV tainted blood to Rahm Emanuel.

Hussein had a previous arrest in March 29, 2006. Hussein was in Chicago. Hussein had set a fire in the middle of a busy Chicago street. He waved a Muslim Quran in his hand and shouted “God is great”.

In the latest case, a judge ordered a mental evaluation of Hussein.
