Ryan Widmer was convicted for the murder of his wife, Sarah Widmer. Ryan allegedly drowned Sarah Widmer in their home in 2008. In April 2009, Widmer was convicted and subsequently sentenced to life in prison.

Judge Neal Bronson has allowed a new trial for Ryan Widmer because the previous jury had considered outside evidence. Widmer’s family has posted $400,000 bail money, which Judge Bronson had lowered from the previous $1 million.

No date has been set for Ryan Widmer’s retrial.
