Ryan Reynolds, the actor who married Scarlet Johansson, participated in the New York Marathon. Ryan Reynolds crossed the finish line after 3 hours 50 minutes. Reynolds said that he was very excited at his completion of the NY Marathon. Reynolds finished faster than he had anticipated. One motivating factor was attributed by Reynolds to sighting Michael J. Fox at Fifth Avenue, along the route for the NY Marathon. Reynolds said he felt encouraged and pushed him through the final 6 miles.

Reynolds ran for Michael J. Fox’s organisation, called Team Fox. Reynolds participated in honor of his father, Jim Reynolds, who has suffered from Parkinson’s Disease for the past 15 years. Michael Fox’s acting career was rudely interrupted by Parkinson’s Disease. Reynolds’ mother, Tammy Reynolds, and his brother, Terry Reynolds, waited for him at the finish line in Central Park, NY. Reynolds said his wife, Scarlett Johansson, was looking on somewhere along the route.
