Ryan Leaf: Ryan Leaf’s drug & burglary charges
By Therese Lisieux on May 22nd, 2009Ryan Leaf, a former Chargers QB, has been slapped with drug and burglary charges in Texas. Leaf may have abused prescription medication. Leaf tried to help himself by going into rehab in British Columbia, Canada. Leaf is required to return to the US to face charges.
In Nov 2008, Leaf allegedly asked a player for a pain killer. Leaf supposedly wanted it for his old wrist injury which was still hurting. After that information surfaced, Leaf was suspended from his coaching job at West Texas A & M. Leaf was placed on leave.
Leaf has been accused of getting prescription drugs by asking people or using prescriptions that were not written out for him. Leaf was accused of burglary at an apartment in Canyon where an injured player was staying. The player’s Hydrocodone, a pain reliever, was stolen from his home. The alleged crime was committed on Oct 30, 2008.
