Ryan Cole’s coastal taipan: Cole saved from coastal taipan (photos)
By Clarencia Cynrae on December 19th, 2008Ryan Cole, 15, jumped into a pool near Burnett River in Mundubbera, 300 miles north-west of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. Ryan Cole was bitten in his foot by a coastal taipan snake. Cole started convulsing and bleeding from his mouth. His friends dragged Ryan Cole away from the pool, wrapped a T shirt around his bite to prevent the venom from the coastal taipan spreading.
The teens dialed emergency services. Ryan Cole was hospitalized and a liter of coastal taipan anti-venom was pumped into his body to save him. This bite from the coastal taipan was not Ryan Cole’s first snake bite. This was the second time Cole has been bitten by a snake. Ryan was with his brother Jakob Cole, 16, and their friends Scott Smith, Lee Carson, Torren Wood and Josh Allen.
