Russell Tovey, 26, has been talent spotted by the Dr Who’s lead writer/executive producer to play the 11th Dr Who. If so, Russell Tovey would replace David Tennant as the previous actor who played Dr Who.

Russell T Davies let slip the name of the young actor when he emailed a writer on Doctor Who magazine. Davies mentioned that Tovey would make an excellent Dr Who. The suggestion was rumored to be a hint.

Russell Tovey was last seen in Midshipman Frame in Dr Who for 2007 Christmas. Russell T Davies wrote that he anticipated Russell Tovey as a good Dr Who. Davies’ contract as Dr Who’s scriptwriter will end later in 2008. Daviies will be replaced by Steven Moffatt. Maffatt is the man behind the BBC hit, “Coupling.”
