Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken were having a good time on board Robert Wagner’s yacht, Splendour. Wagner said Wood should spend less time on her career and devote herself to their children.

Walken defended Wood. Later, all three retired to separate parts of the yacht for the night. Wagner checked on Wood in the master stateroom but she was missing. Robert Wagner feared for his wife when he saw the dinghy was missing too. Walken called the authorities and they started searching for Natalie Wood. The dinghy and body of Natalie Wood were found separately. The coroner ruled that Natalie Wood probably died accidentally when she fell into the water trying to board her dinghy. There were rumors and suspicions that Natalie Wood was murdered. No evidence of foul play was found.

Gavin Lambert has written a new book on Natalie Wood. The title is “Natalie Wood: A Life.”

Everyone knows there was some complicity in her death between those on board. And calling the police immediately? Movie stars tried to keep that stuff out of the tabloids at that time.

Wagner killed her!! He used his fame & money to buy his way out of it. Wasnt he going with Jill St John while still married to Natalie? What happened to the investigation-was there ever one?I loved Natalie from the 1st time I saw her in West Side Story until her tragic death(murder)20 years later. From all accounts she was a nice person & as beautiful inside as she was outside. Why did wagner have “no comment”for 27 years & now comes out with some nonsense story? Natalie deserved so much better-RIP sweet angel!

While we will probably never know for sure … I agree with the earlier writer …… think it highly likely that Natalie was murdered … and for one of the oldest of motives … JEALOUSY …. personal and professional … a case of murder most foul …. where money and fame … shield the murderer from justice …

Nataile was my first crush growing up. Because of her dark hair and brown eyes have always been my weakness. Ironicly, her last movie: “Brainstorm” 1981 was filmed at GSK, then BurroghsWellcome Lab in the RTP near Raleigh, NC. As it was, my first girlfriend, Sharon “Tadpole”, worked there in 1986. And yes she was a brunette with a smile that would light up the night sky at 8,000 feet AGL.

Maybe we will never know for sure, but maybe we will know the full story of how she ended up in the water, when Robert Wagner dies.

So you can wipe of that grin, I know where you’ve been, It’s all been a pack of liesPhil Collins

An Open letter to Robert Wagner

Dear Mr. Robert Wagner, I have a challenge for you. Tell us, we all want to hear the truth, your life is nearly over, you have been blessed with almost twice as many years as Natalie… blessed are you. But tormented as well. Unburden yourself, let your soul free, allow for once the truth to be told, I beg of you and Natalie’s memory demands it of you.

You have reaped so much more than you have sewn. So much more. You have been given a free pass reserved solely for those who have traded with the devil at the crossroads.

So much has been spoken about that fateful night, so much has been speculated about that fateful night, but you have the power to put all the rumors and innuendo to rest. What prevents you? Pride? Arrogance? Vanity? Fear?
Your empire has allowed for far too long a shelter for you, it has protected you but who protects the memory of Natalie, who will speak for her?

Mr. Wagner, you will not be able to ignore this any longer, I’m sending a copy of the book Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deptartment. It includes the evidence they left behind. It ensures that you can’t leave the truth behind. It will follow you forever! I will tell all who will listen, and they are legion to look at you, to scrutinize you and to call you to answer all that needs answered.
Natalie will have her voice at last.

I believe you murdered a mother, a wife and a daughter that night,
What do you offer as a defense against such a charge?
A denial? It takes more than the mundane response of “I didn’t do it” to quell such charges.
    Extra-ordinary claims require extra-ordinary proof. Where’s yours?

Prove you loved her. Tell the truth. Let her rest in peace.

Money buys so much, can it buy your freedom from justice? No sir, it can not, not anymore.
