Robert Carnes Jr, a member of Akon’s entourage, was involved in an altercation with Suge Knight. Police were called in to W Hotel, in Scottsdale, Arizona. They were tipped that a fight was brewing at the private party for the NBA All-Star celebrations.

Police officers saw Carnes punch Knight twice. Knight was sent to hospital for treatment on his facial injuries. Early press reports mistakenly named Carnes as Akon’s business manager but Akon’s representative has clarified this. David Bolno is Akon’s manager.
