Ricky Devine, 41, was an ex part-time presenter for Costa Blanca expat radio station Exite FM. Local Spanish police detained Ricky Devine on an European Arrest Warrant at his home in Orihuela Costa, near Alicante.

Spanish Police said Ricky Devine had now been taken to Spain’s National Criminal Court to face an extradition hearing.

A spokesman for Exite FM radio station said that they were totally shocked. Ricky  was a friendly, helpful, humble, and worked for free as a volunteer presenter. When Ricky Devine failed to show up for his scheduled work, the station called his home. Ricky Devine’s mother told them that Ricky was in Madrid. Mrs. Devine refsued to say more details. It was a complete shock to learn that he had been arrested by Spanish police for suspected rape cases.

The Excite FM spokesman said that he did not know Ricky Devine well. He knew that Ricky Devine used to live in London. Ricky Devine was thought to have been a car salesman before he came to Spain. He could not confirm how long Ricky Devine had stayed in UK. He said may be that was about one year.

Rceently, another DJ was imprisoned for life for rapes. Richard Baker was convicted and jailed. Richard Baker was found guilty of attacking several women in Sussex,  Essex and London. The serial rapist had worked in Spain in summers for several years. When he returned to the UK, he supposedly committed the crimes.
