Richard Wiley, 54, killed his wife, Kathryn Wiley-Motes and her son, Christopher Motes,17. Chris Motes was a senior student in New Trier High School in Winnetka. Wiley murdered Wiley Motes and her son Motes, before he turned the gun on himself.

Richard Wiley, 54, who is alleged to have killed his wife and stepson in Wilmette, had a prior conviction. Wiley killed his then-wife, in Chicago, in April 12,1985. Wiley was sentenced in 1987 and received 20 years and was paroled on Jan 12, 2000.
