Richard “Ricky” Chekevdia went missing 2 years ago in 2007. Chekevdia was only 5 years old back then. Chekevdia has been found alive. Chekevdia and his mother were hidden in a special secret room in his grandmother’s home, in Franklin County, Illinois.

Chekevdia was secreted away by his mother, Shannon Wilfong, 30. Ms Wilfong has been charged with abduction. Chekevdia’s grandmother, Diane Dobbs, 51, was charged with helping Wilfong abduct Chekevdia.

Richard Chekevdia’s father is Mike Chekevdia, 48, a lieutenant colonel in the Illinois National Guard. Rchard’s custody was given to him before the child disappeared. Shannon Wilfong is Mike Chekevdia’s former girlfriend.

Mr Chekevdia was accused of abusing Richard in 2007 so after Richard was found, he was placed in the home of one of the Chekevdia relatives while the Illinois state investigated the claims that he was abused by his father.

Mike Chekevdia said he had suspected his ex girlfriend Shannon Wilfong and his son were hiding in Diane Dobbs’ home although an earlier search revealed nothing.
