Richard L Fortman, a Checkers champion, has died at the age of 93. Richard Fortman died on Nov. 8, 2008.

Richard Fortman won Checkers 6 times in the Illinois State Champion competitions. Fortman was Champion 6 times as the Illinois State Champion. Richard Fortman also won the World Postal Correspondence Checkers Champion title once.

Richard Fortman wrote a series of books on checkers. “Basic Checkers” was written by Richard Fortman. Richard Fortman is survived by his wife, Faye Fortman.
