Richard Davis & Polly Klass: Davis’ new trial on Klass (photos)

Richard Allen Davis was sentenced to death for the murder of Polly Klaas. Klass, 12, was kidnapped and strangled in 1993. Richard Davis was convicted and sentenced to death in 1996.

Davis’ lawyer appealed to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 3, that Davis should get a new trial. He claimed police obtained Davis’ confession illegally and Davis should get a new trial. The Court will make a ruling on whether Davis would be granted a new trial. The decision will be made in 90 days.
