Rich Behm: Rich Behm’s condition updated
By Clarencia Cynrae on May 3rd, 2009Rich Behm, 33, was severely injured when the Dallas Cowboys’ indoor practice facility collapsed on Saturday, May 2. Behm’s spinal cord was severed. Surgeons operated on Behm to stabilize a fracture that broke his spinal cord. Doctors determined Behm will have permanent paralysis from his waist down.
Behm was working as the Dallas Cowboys’ scouting assistant. Behm was among the twelve people who were injured when the structure collapsed in a heavy storm.
Another Dallas Cowboy staffer, Joe DeCamillis, a coach for the special teams, suffered a fracture of his cervical vertebrae without paralysis. The third staffer who was injured was Greg Gaither, 35. Gaither had fractures in his right leg. Surgeons operated on Gaither to repair his fractures.
