Reginald Perkins was executed in Texas. Perkins was a convicted rapist and suspected serial killer. Perkins was convicted for robbing and strangling his stepmother, Gertie Perkins, 64, in Fort Worth 8 years ago.

Perkins told a prison officer that he was innocent about an hour before his scheduled execution. Perkins died at 6:24 pm. Reginald Perkins’ lawyer said he had exhausted all appeals.
