Rebecca Willis wanted to dance in Marshall Depot Community Center in N.C. Rebecca Willis had worn a short skirt and sometimes, her underwear was exposed. Rebecca Willis was accused of doing dance movements that simulated sex with her dance partner. Residents complained about her dirty dancing so Rebecca Willis was banned from the Marshall Depot Community Center. Willis has been awarded $275K as a settlement for being banned. Rebecca Willis said she was pleased that the settlement meant the town should allow free expression.
