Ranee Proper, 42, a former High School music teacher, has been sentenced to prison. Proper was convicted of having sex with male minors aged 16 and 17. Ms Proper was sentenced to 9 months in prison. Proper had a reduced charges after she agreed to plead guilty in a plea deal. Proper was charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Ranee Proper had worked with Holly High School as a music teacher since 2004 until June 2008. Proper resigned when she was under investigation in June 2008.

Ranee Proper has to serve 9 months in prison. Proper will then have 5 years of probation. Proper has to undergo sex offender treatment. Proper is banned from having unsupervised contact with minors, except when they are relatives.
