Radford University in Virginia had a shooting death. Students in Radford University were told to say inside and lock their doors. On Thursday, April 2, a man was fatally shot near Radford University campus.

Radford University experienced a scare when a man was wounded by a gunshot in the chest. The man died from his wound. The shooting occurred a few blocks from Radford University campus in Virginia. On Thursday, the shooting happened near the Radford University campus at around 9:10 pm. Officers suspected the shooter to have fled into Radford University campus.

Students of Radford University were informed by news in many media such as via telephone, emails, and cell phone text messages. Police could not confirm if the gunman was a student in Radford University. Virginia City police, Virginia State police and Radford University police are searching for the gunman. Virginia Tech University has also sent their police to help in the search. VTU is about 20 minutes away from Radford University campus.

There are around 7500 students in Radford University.

The Radford University lock down has been lifted. Police declared the campus was secure. The shooter is still at large. The victim was not a student of Radford University. The gunman was not suspected to be a student of Radford. The authorities said the shooting could have been a random act of violence.
