Rachel Maddow is the first woman to host a prime time program on MSNBC at 9 pm, from Sept. 8. A better line would be – Rachel Maddow, 35, is the first openly gay woman to host a prime time program on MSNBC.

MSNBC was seen to move left with Rachel Maddow while Fox News moved right. Rachel Maddow had humble beginnings as she started as a PhD Rhodes scholarship lesbian grad who took on work as a prison AIDS activist. Congratulations to Rachel Maddow!
