Robert Giroux, a publisher, died in his sleep on Friday morning, Sept. 5. Robert Giroux was 94.

Robert Giroux suffered poor health for about two months. Giroux was in an assisted living facility in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Giroux was briefly married to Carmen de Arango in 1952. Robert Giroux and Carmen de Arango divorced in 1969. Robert Giroux was a talent spotter as he could immediately see the potential in good works from promising writers.
