Michael Jackson’s family ordered a Promethean casket from the Batesville Casket Company. The Promethean has a rich blue velvet interior. The Promethean is encased with a bronze outer layer that is hand polished so shiny that it shines like a mirror. The coffin is made of solid bronze and gold plated with 14K gold. The cost of a Promethean is $25000.

The Promethean casket (picture at link) is a rare type of casket that is made with each customized order. James Brown was buried in a Promethean.
