Poveglia is a small island between Lido & Venice in the Venetian Lagoon in Italy. Poveglia was used for plague victims and psychiatric patients. There were many deaths on Poveglia and people started seeing ghosts on the small island of Poveglia.

Poveglia is one of the world’s scariest and spookiest places. It is closed to tourists and used to grow vineyards.

Around 1922, one psychiatric doctor tried investigating his patients’ behaviors on Poveglia and he became affected. He started seeing ghosts and committed suicide on Poveglia by jumping off the roof.
