The Popemobile or Pope Mercedes has been  requested to steer clear away from the grass pitch of the Yankee Stadium. The Pope is due for a visit there on Sunday, April 20  2008.

The last time a Pope visited the Yankee Stadium in 1979, the Yankees finiished fourth in the AL East.  Every time a Pope visited the Yankee Stadium, he was said to influence the Yankees in some way.
