Pope John Paul II: John Paul II’s first miracle (photo)

By Therese Lisieux on April 3rd, 2009

Pope John Paul II died on April 2, 2005. A Polish boy, 9, was wheeled to St Peter’s Basilica on a pilgrimage to Pope John Paul II’s grave. The boy prayed at the grave. He had a kidney tumor and was unable to walk. After the boy emerged from the Basilica, he got up from his wheelchair and started to walk.

The Polish boy prayed at the tomb of John Paul II on the eve of the 4th anniversary of his death.

This healing will be investigated. If it is attributed to a “miracle”, then Pope John Paul II will be declared blessed. A second miracle is needed to declare John Paul II a saint. You can read more at the link. Photos are at the link.
