By Clarencia Cynrae on January 31st, 2009A Piper PA-34 low on fuel crashed into the woods near a West Virginia airport. All six on board the Piper PA-34 were killed. The Piper PA-34 crash happened on Friday, Jan 30. The pilot of the Piper PA-3 had radioed the airport to warn them that his plane was running low on fuel.
The Piper PA-34 did not make it to the airport but crashed about 2 miles from the Tri-State Airport near Ohio and Kentucky. All six on board died.
The airport control tower was in contact and working with the pilot of the Piper PA-34 when the pilot made a sudden 180 degree turn and the Tri-State controllers lost contact with the plane. The Piper PA-34 was registered to Wilmington, Del.-based Wesvin Inc.
