Pilot Vincent Nasta died in Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome air show

Vincent Nasta, 47, of Wading River, New York, was a veteran pilot and flight instructor. Vincent Nasta died when his World War 1 replica biplane crashed during a Hudson Valley air show. Vincent Nasta’s single engine plane crashed on Sunday, Augusy 17, 2008.

Vincent Nasta was flying a simulated dogfight with a German plane when it crashed near the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Vincent Nasta’s plane crashed in the woods about 1000 feet away from Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Vincent Nasta, the sole occupant of the plane, was caught in the plane’s fire. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting investigations.

Vincent Nasta flew the replica 1917 Neiuport 24 biplane which belonged to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Vincent Nasta is survived by his wife.
