Petrolia, Pa – A chemical plant in west of Pa. had a corrosive liquid spill. Petrolia is around 40 miles NE of Pittsburgh. The liquid overflowed from a tank at a chemical plant. On Sat., Oct 11, this fluid evaporated into a cloud. Residents fled the area. Three people had respiratory problems. Indspec Chemical Corp. plant in Petrolia was the plant in question. Its manager, Dave Dorko, said oleum, similar to sulfuric acid, had leaked. People living within the 3 mile radius of the plant in Petrolia, Pa, were warned. About 2500 were warned in Petrolia, Pa.

The chemical, toxic cloud was traveling very slowly west on Sat. night. Residents in Petrolia, Pa and in the path of the cloud were instructed to remain indoors, close windows, doors and avoid using air drawn from the surroundings.
