Peter Zezel, a 15-year NHL veteran, is dying. Zezel has been taken off life support as his condition was deemed irrevocable. Zezel, 44, returned to Toronto, his hometown, and stayed in a hospital there.

Zezel has a conditon called hemolytic anemia. This disease destroys red blood cells faster than the body can replace them.
