Tom Hanks met his old friend, Peter Scolari while he was shooting “Angels & Demons”. Hanks asked his director if he could hire Scolari for a cameo in “Angels & Demons”. Ron Howard diplomatically referred it to Scolari and said he would if the actor accepted a cameo role.

Scolari passed up his chance to have a shot at being seen in “Angels & Demons”. Scolari said he was on vacation with his family and wanted to spend time with them.
