Peter Duff & Penelope Duff’s assisted suicide at Dignitas (photos)
By Therese Lisieux on March 8th, 2009Peter Duff and Penelope Duff, a married couple, both had terminal cancer. Penelope and Peter Duff decided to commit suicide with the help of a Swiss Suicide clinic.
Penelope “Penny” Duff had a rare cancer called GIST since 1992. Peter Duff had colon cancer which had spread to his liver. The Duff couple had terminal cancers.
The Duff couple’s daughter, Helena Conibear, is married to Simon Conibear. Simon works at Prince Charles’ “model village” Poundbury. Prince Charles has sent his condolences to Helena Duff Conibear and Simon Conibear.
In Britain, assisting suicide is a criminal offence. The Duff couple travelled to Switzerland to get the Dignitas clinic to assist them. Ludwig Minelli, Director of Dignitas clinic in Switzerland, gave his statement on Friday, March 6, that Peter Duff, 80, and his wife, Penelope Duff, 70, died on Feb 27.
