Paul Zolezzi, 30, a male model, committed suicide. Zolezzi hanged himself at the monkey bars in Mount Prospect Park playground, near Brooklyn Museum. Zolezzi posted a message on his Facebook page, announcing his intention to kill himself.

Zolezzi was a model. Zolezzi’s mother, Stephanie Zolezzi, said he was suffering over his broken engagement 2 years ago and had drug problems. Zolezzi was arrested in San Francisco in fall 2008 for buying heroin.

Zolezzi traveled and stayed in Portland and Brooklyn. Zolezzi had stayed with his Brooklyn friend, Melissa Lopez, before he went to the Park to hang himself. Lopez said she saw he had some “dark” behavior and talked to himself.
