Pat O’Brien said he quit, while gossip said Pat O’Brien was fired. Pat O’Brien is finally leaving The Insider. CBS Television Distribution and The Insider had a polite statement to announce the goodbye and well wishes.

Pat O’Brien had been absent from The Insider for some time. Out of the blue, O’Brien emailed his colleagues. O’Brien claimed he was upset people could not afford gas, food, books, school and movies. O’Brien claimed hundreds or thousands asked his help. According to O’Brien, The Insider was inappropriate to show Lara Spencer choosing accessories and luxuries when the civilians could not afford basics. O’Brien also said Anya Sarre selected accessories and basically, he was unhappy with the women co-hosts who covered for him when he was absent from The Insider.
