Olutosin Oduwole is on trial for allegedly threatening to plan an attack on Southern Illinosis University. He said he wrote some lyrics for a rap song and did not intend his material to imply he was going to launch a terrorist attack.
Olutosin Oduwole denied this charge and pleaded not guilty. He said his note was a song lyric. The charge was an infringment of his right to free speech. Olutosin Oduwole’s note dated back to JUly in 2007, when memories were still freah after the Virginia Tech was attacked by a gunman who killed many victims. Olutosin Oduwole was released on bond and moved to New Jersey, where he lives with his father.
