Olidia Kerr Day led her stalker/assailant out of her house to protect her children who were inside. Olidia Kerr Day drove to the nearest police station.

On her way, Day made a frantic call to the police but she was relayed to the wrong police station. The police were accused by Day’s family of mishandling the call. Olidia Kerr Day reached the police station, was blocked by their closed gate. When Day left her car, she was shot down by her stalker, Carlos Cevallos. Cevallos then turned his gun on himself and committed suicide. Carlos Cevallos left behind a suicide note to declare his love for Day.
