What happened to Nora O’Brien?
Nora O’Brien died on April 29, 2009. O’Brien was NBC’s vice president for drama programming. O’Brien was playing basketball with her colleagues when she collapsed without warning. O’Brien died of a brain aneurysm. O’Brien had been involved in shooting a pilot for “Parenthood”, to be developed into a TV series. That fateful evening, she was playing basketball with her friends when she collapsed.
O’Brien had worked 6 years for NBC Uni. As a mark of respect, NBC canceled their pilot shows for Thursday, April 30. The production on the set of “Parenthood” will be closed for 2 days to mourn O’Brien’s passing.
Parenthood starred Peter Krause, Maura Tierney and Erika Christensen. Tierney was replaced when she had to leave to get breast cancer treatment. Lauren Graham took her place in the show.
