November 2 2009 – Noor Almaleki has died of her injuries. Faleh Hassan Almaleki has been extradited to Arizona. Mr Almaleki’s bail is set at $5 million.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, used a Jeep to run down his own daughter becasue she was becoming westernized. Almaleki hit Noor Faleh Almaleki and her female friend, Amal Edan Khalaf on October 20. Ms Almaleki’s condition is described as seriously injured and she remained unresponsive.

Amal Edan Khalaf is Miss Almaleki’s boyfriend’s mother.

Mr Almaleki, of Peoria, Phoenix, Arizona, fled to Mexico, where he took a flight to London, England, in the UK. The Brits refused to allow him to enter their country and turned him back. Almaleki was arrested when his plane landed in Atlanta.

Mr Almaleki was arrested on Thursday, October 29. Almaleki has been detained in custody and is waiting to be extradited back to Arizona to face charges.

Khalaf, 43, Ms Almaleki’s friend, has non-critical injuries. Ms Khalaf is recovering and her condition is stable.

Ms Almaleki, of Iraqi origins, angered her father by following Western ways that deferred from their Iraqi culture. Ms Almaleki had stayed with Ms Khalaf.
