What would you do if you are Knowing about the future? John Koestler is Knowing about the past and the future. Koestler could not change the past but he wanted to use his knowledge Knowing the future to change the future for selected individuals.

Nicolas Cage played John Koestler, a university professor with a hearing impaired son, Caleb Koestler. Caleb gets a message from a time capsule. The writer, Lucinda Embry, correctly predicted the major disasters of the world for the last 50 years.

Embry died but her daughter, Diana Wayland, and granddaughter, Abby Wayland, met up with John Koestler. Koestler asked Wayland about her deceased mother but she was unable to tell him much about the secret message.

There were four aliens from outer space who had whispered messages to Lucinder Emry, Caleb Koestler and Abby Wayland. These aliens warned them about the future.

Eventually, John Koestler discovered that although he could save his son by Knowing about the future, he could not save himself. The aliens refused to allow John to board their spaceship because he was not one of the people who could hear the whispers. Koestler made the ultimate sacrifice by letting his son Caleb go with the aliens. Abby’s mother was already dead so Abby faced no objection about being beamed up the alien craft.

Koestler returned to see his estranged parents. He reconciled with them just as the huge waves of destruction swept up the doorstep of his parents’ home. The Koestler family died. But they died unified as a family.

Some time later, Caleb Koestler and Abby Wayland were shown landing on a planet with fresh plants, while the alien space ship flew away. It is assumed Caleb and Abby would continue life at the new place.
