Nick Schuyler was the only one of the four men who was rescued out at the sea off Florida. Nick Schuyler said Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith, and William Bleakley removed their life jackets.

According to Schuyler, Cooper and Smith removed their life jackets and surrendered to the sea only after 4 hours in the water on Saturday, Feb 28. This account disputes the earlier reports that quoted Schuyler as having said he last saw the other 3 men alive at 4 am Monday morning, March 2.

Nick Schuyler said Bleakley removed his life vest to swim towards a light he saw in the distance. Bleakley wanted to get help from that source of light he saw.
