Nick DiMola & Clinton Hill: DiMola benefits from Hill’s antiques

By Clarencia Cynrae on July 19th, 2009

Clinton Hill, an abstract artist, died in 2003. Hill’s partner, Allen Tran, died a few months after Hill passed away. The SoHo apartment belonging to Hill and his partner Tran was passed on to their friends, who established a nonprofit foundation to take possession of the valuables from Hill’s studio.

Nick DiMola was hired to clear out the apartment, studio and storage of Clinton Hill and Allen Tran. DiMola removed a cardboard barrel where he then left in his storage. DiMola opened the barrel recently to find antiques inside.

Legally, DiMola is entitled to keep the antiques as he was asked to remove them as trash. DiMola stands to gain $16,500 if he sells the antiques.
