Nicholas Corbett, a Border Patrol Agent, has been accused of fatally shooting a male illegal immigrant. Francisco Javier Dominguez Rivera, of Puebla, Mexico, was killed when Nicholas Corbett shot him just as he was kneeling on the ground to surrender. Corbett, working in Tucson, Arizona, had his defense say that he fired on Dominguez in self-defense. Dominguez’s two brothers and a third man, who were witnesses, said Francisco Dominguez was surrendering when Nicholas Corbett opened fire. The verdict was a mistrial.
