October 8 2009 – Nia Long will join Chris Rock, Ledisi (Verve), Tanika Ray and Solange Knowles (Beyonce’s sister) in Essence magazine in its November issue. Long, Ledisi, Ray and Knowles will help Rock in his quest for feedback on hair care. Chris Rock is doing this to promote his documentary called “Good Hair”

Essence, November 2009, is available for sale at news stands.

Black women and their specific hair types will be discussed in the chat session. Topics touched are what black women consider as good hair, good hair for beauty, perceived beautiful images, reconciliation/ acceptance of natural beauty.

It will be interesting to see what the celebrities own up to as some of the women have done alterations to the states of their natural hair. Nia Long has straight hair. Solange Knowles has a buzz crop after nearly shaving off all of her hair.

Nia Long on Beyonce in Obsessed

Nia Long criticized Beyonce for making the crossover from being a singer to an actress. Did Nia Long really watch Beyonce in the movie Obsessed?

I think Beyonce Knowles was not half bad in Obsessed. Grant it that Beyonce was not Sharone Stone as in Fatal Attraction but did Beyonce have the amount of training and years of experience as Stone? Beyonce did her best and she looked radiant when she sashayed away from the obsessed stalker with her head up and without the help of the detective assigned to her case.
